Japan... The Land of Amazing Food

Food.

Food.

Food.

Don't you just love eating food from different places? Like sushi from Japan, Tom Yam from Thailand, and Pavlova from New Zealand.

Okay, somepeople might disagree but I still firmly believe that Kiwis were the ones who created Pav.

Right back to the topic. I've spent five days in Japan and I have to say that even thoughI didn't experienced the "real" Japan (I was with a tour group for goodness's sake!) but my experience with the food was nevertheless "amazing". I've had sushi, sashimi, tempura, miso soup, dango, moji, shabu-shabu, and God knows what else!
But I have to say that my uttmost favorite is this green tea ice cream! There was also tofu and wasabi flavored ice cream and they are not at all bad!

Little Things That Makes The Day Better

Hmm.. seems like me & Mel's deal of posting a recipe per week is definitely not working. Well, doesn't matter. Even though I am not going to post any recipe today I am going to post photos of food instead!

A nice spot to sit back & relax....

Plus a good book and a nice iced coffee to complete the effect of total relaxation...

And perhaps some good music on-the-go to make it even better.. like my new iPod nano 8GB in black that I got at a bargained price in Japan. Whee!!
Right... I better wrap up and log off as I have tons of work I need to get thru in my tray-in and gazillion of emails to read in my inbox. *sigh*

“There is no sincerer love than the love of food” ~ George Bernard Shaw

These days, loving food begins simply. No complicated recipes. But, more time and thought.

Salad can be mesclun + cheese + mayo.

But it is more exciting to make it spinach + sundried tomato + feta + sourdough bread + avocado + carrot + olives + ham + lemon + avocado dressing.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm.........

Welcome to Our Blog

"A Spoonful Too Many" is the name of our blog,

Created after our long and tedious slog,

It is here that you will find

Recipe after recipe that will stagger your mind.

Dash of pepper, pinch of salt

Sprinkle of lemon, handful of malt

Cooking from our hearts and hands

Food from all these different lands

It's hard to rhyme so we'll end this soon,

It's easier to deal with fork and spoon

So if you love food as much as us,

Come on in and don't be such a fuss!
